Since operating as a Trading Fund Department in 1995, Hongkong Post has become a market-oriented service organization and grown beyond the traditional postal services to providing a diversified range of services in the logistics supply chain in addition to developing new markets. The following non-civil service contract managerial post in Hongkong Post is advertised:

ASSISTANT MANAGER / MANAGER (E-POST)

(Around $208,000 to $526,000 per annum + gratuity)

Major responsibilities:

  • To manage the overall operation of the e-Post printing centres for provision of efficient service;
  • To develop and prepare detailed work procedures/manual for staff’s compliance in order to meet customer’s requirements;
  • To constant review the security of premises and initiate improvements;
  • To conduct checks to ensure compliance of procedural requirements to safeguard service quality and data security;
  • To devise and implement work plan to ensure smooth workflow in the e-Post printing centres; and
  • To liaise with customers to work out logistic arrangements such as procurement, replenishment and control over printing stationeries.

Requirements:

  • A Hong Kong degree or higher diploma in IT, computer science/electronic engineering , or equivalent;
  • A minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in data centre management/ digital printing, preferably with at least 1 year of experience in managerial or supervisory position;
  • Solid working experience in overseeing high volume printing equipment and providing printing technical solution. Conversant with print software and languages will be an advantage;
  • Good analytical, presentation, staff management and leadership skills;
  • Able to work independently and under pressure; and
  • May be required to work overnight.

Terms of appointment:

  • 2 years' contract;
  • Depending on the merits of the selected candidate, he/she will be offered the position at the Manager or Assistant Manager level as appropriate at commensurable pay;
  • Performance pay up to circa 1 month’s salary in every six months;
  • 15% contract-end gratuity (inclusive of Hongkong Post’s MPF contributions); and
  • 14 days’ annual leave.

  • Successful candidates are expected to assume duties in August and September 2008. Those who are not invited for interview within 8 weeks from the closing date for application should consider their applications unsuccessful.
  • Non-civil service vacancies are not posts on the civil service establishment. Candidates appointed are not on civil service terms of appointment and conditions of service. Candidates appointed are not civil servants and will not be eligible for posting, promotion or transfer to any posts in the Civil Service.
  • Candidates appointed must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
