Bulk Air Mail (No service to Macau)

(A) Charge:

Note:

1. Airmails to China, Mainland are all forwarded by rail to Guangzhou, thence by air. The air mail network within China, Mainland covers Shantou, Xingning and Zhanjiang in Guangdong; Nanning and Guilin in Guangxi, Haikou in Hainan and all destinations in the remaining provinces / autonomous regions.
2. The postage rates listed in this section will not be applicable if the following conditions are met :-
   a) items not exceeding 50g sent to Japan or Thailand, AND
   b) posting of 1,500 items or more per day, or 5,000 items or more over a 2 weeks period to addressees in the same country by a single mailer

(B) Posting Requirement:

The sortation criteria for mail items sent to USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, India and Mainland China:

• Minimum weight - 5 kg to the first destination country, 1 kg each for other destination country in the same posting.
• Maximum weight
  - Each item : 2 kg (5kg for books)
  - Each bag : 30 kg (20kg for Great Britain)
• Posting method - permit mailing or postage prepaid
• All the items within the same weight step for a single destination country and city (Office of Exchange) should be contained in a mail bag. However, all the mailings with weight more than 1 kg but less than 5 kg should be contained in residual mail bags and bundled by individual destination country and weight step.
• The cover of individual items should bear
  - the full address of the recipient, including post codes (if applicable).
  - an airmail label or airmail indication
• Mail items should not bear a return address located outside Hong Kong or enclose mail sent on behalf of other senders in Hong Kong in the consignment.

Bulk posting of lightweight mail items to Japan and Thailand (AIR)

Charge:

Sortation fee : $5 per kg (It will be charged if the mail is not presorted in accordance with "Bulk Air Mail" Service requirements.

Note: The postage rates listed in this section will be applicable if the following conditions are met (normal postage rates of all other services will not be applicable):-

a) items not exceeding 50g sent to Japan or Thailand, AND
b) posting of 1,500 items or more per day, or 5,000 items or more over a 2 weeks period to addressees in the same country by a single mailer.

• Please refer to the general conditions of the Bulk Air Mail service for posting arrangements (except that there is no minimum weight requirement).

Bulk posting of lightweight mail items to Japan and Thailand (SURFACE)

Charge:

Sortation fee : $5 per kg (It will be charged if the mail is not presorted in accordance with "Bulk Air Mail" Service requirements.

Note: The postage rates listed in this section will be applicable if the following conditions are met (normal postage rates of all other services will not be applicable) :-

a) items not exceeding 50g sent to Japan or Thailand, AND
b) posting of 1,500 items or more per day, or 5,000 items or more over a 2 weeks period to addressees in the same country by a single mailer

• The posting conditions are similar to the Bulk Air Mail Service except :-
  - no minimum weight requirements
  - surface mail bag, bag label and posting forms should be used.

1. The average postage per item included in the posting should not be less than the respective minimum rate, or else, the minimum rate will be charged.
   
2. 20kg for Great Britain. Except residual mail bag, any bag weighing less than 26kg (20kg for Great Britain) will be charged at 26kg (20kg for Great Britain), in addition to the charge calculated on per item basis.

• Minimum weight - 26kg per bag (20kg for Great Britain). Except residual mail bag, any bag weighing less than 26kg (20kg for Great Britain) will be charged at 26kg (20kg for Great Britain) in addition to the charge calculated on per item basis.
• Maximum weight
  - Each item : 2 kg (5kg for books)
  - Each bag : 30 kg (20kg for Great Britain)
• Posting method : permit mailing
• Acceptable items: Newspaper, periodicals, books, pamphlets or maps printed and published in Hong Kong. Articles of commercial nature are not acceptable.
• The cover of individual items should bear the full address of the recipient, including post codes (if applicable).
• No items should bear a return address located outside Hong Kong or enclose mail sent on behalf of other senders in the consignment.

• Posting method : permit mailing
• Acceptable items: Newspaper, periodicals, books, pamphlets or maps printed and published in Hong Kong, sent to one addressee or agent overseas. Articles may be affixed or combined with the accompanying printed papers. Please refer to the Post Office Guide for the list of admissible items.
• Bags addressed to an agent must not contain any item addressed to any person or firm other than the agent.

• Application to use permit mail service should be made beforehand to the Postmaster General, Hongkong Post Headquarters, 2 Connaught Place, Hong Kong.
• Postal stationery should be collected from the bulk acceptance offices for preparation of mail prior to posting.
