Hongkong Post at a Glance
Established in 1841, Hongkong Post is one of the oldest department in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARG). We have grown in tandem with the wider community by recognising and meeting its needs for postal and associated services.
The change into a trading fund operation in 1995 marked a major milestone for Hongkong Post. Our business has expanded beyond the traditional offerings such as mail, express mail and philately to embrace newer operations such as logistics, ShopThruPost, PayThruPost and trade declarations. These high quality innovations and improvements have reflected, and even facilitated, the wider development of our economy.
At Hongkong Post, we are committed to providing accessible, reliable and affordable postal services. The vigour and professionalism of our management and workforce have earned Hongkong Post widespread recognition locally and internationally as a forward-looking, market-oriented organisation consistently enjoying high levels of customer and staff satisfaction.
We had a highly successful year in 2005/06 as is evident from our excellent financial performance. Our many years of hard work in delivering enhanced efficiency, improved productivity and solid business growth have all paid off. They have also paved the way for further advancement of our strategy-focused and result-driven business.
Our ability to provide world class service to customers was underlined by the fact we have been ranked as one of the top three major service organisations in Hong Kong for eight years in a row in an independent public perception survey.
Hongkong Post also has exceptionally loyal staff, with 90% of our people, in our annual staff perception survey said they were positive towards commitment to their job.
Last but not least, we are an increasingly productive organisation with an outstanding level of achievement in total quality management, as is evident from the prestigious Productivity and Quality Award that we won in the 2005 Hong Kong Awards for Industries.
Celebrating our 10th anniversary as a trading fund in 2005, we have developed into a progressive and dynamic postal organisation with a strong local foothold and a wide global reach. With a mission to excel in this intensely competitive postal landscape, we will continue to develop new strategies in order to sustain our growing success. We have every confidence that Hongkong Post has the skills, determination and leadership to scale new heights in the years to come.
