Special Arrangement for Gillies Avenue Post Office for Sale of "Hong Kong Tea Culture" Special Stamps
A set of special stamps on Hong Kong Tea Culture will be issued on Sunday, 9 September 2001. The Acting Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG announced today that owing to the renovation of office from 27 August 2001 to 15 September 2001, the special stamps will not be put on sale at Gillies Avenue Post Office at 140 Gillies Avenue, Hunghom, Kowloon.
A temporary counter will, however, be set up on 9 September 2001 at the side entrance of Gillies Avenue Post Office for customers to collect their ordered stamp products . The opening hours of the temporary counter will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The temporary counter will also provide service for P.O. box renters and other customers for collection of registered and non-registered mails.
Hand-back service with normal office datestamp and pictorial datestamp of Gillies Avenue Post Office will be provided at Tokwawan Post Office at Arcade Shop D, G/F., Hang Chien Court, Wyler Garden, 108 Mei King Street, Tokwawan, Kowloon on 9 September 2001 to official and private-made souvenir covers bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address.
