The "Flowers on Stamps" Exhibition

The Acting Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG, announced today (24 September) that Hongkong Post will participate in the "Flowers on Stamps" Exhibition to be held from 28 September to 3 October 2001 at Shatin Town Hall Exhibition Gallery, 1 Yuen Wo Road, Shatin, New Territories.

The "Flowers on Stamps" Exhibition is organised by the Commercial Press (HK) Ltd and co-organised by Hongkong Post, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the China Philatelic Association to promote philately.

The opening hours of the Exhibition are as follows:

28.9.01 - 2.10.01 - 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
3.10.01 - 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Hongkong Post will display the running proofs of "Hong Kong Tea Culture" and "Hong Kong Herbs" special stamps at the venue. A cachet will be specially introduced to commemorate this exhibition. Handback service for the cachet will be provided during the exhibition period from 28 September to 3 October 2001 at the Exhibition venue. Hongkong Post will also set up a sales booth there for selling philatelic products and Postshop souvenir items. No special philatelic product or special postmark will be issued on this occasion.

Hongkong Post hosted today (3 October 2001) the "Ceremony to Mark the Extension of PayThruPost Service to Accept Government Bills" at the General Post Office. Mr. W. K. LAM (left), Secretary for Home Affairs and Mr. P. C. LUK (right), the Postmaster General officiated at the ceremony.
