Quality Improvement and Experience Sharing Convention 2001
The 5th Quality Improvement and Experience Sharing Convention 2001 was successfully concluded today (20 November) at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall. The Convention was hosted by Hongkong Post and co-organized by ten renowned member organizations, namely, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Hsin Chong Real Estate Management Limited, Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, Mass Transit Railway Corporation, Motorola Semiconductors Hong Kong Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Tuen Mun Hospital and Vitasoy International Holdings Limited. The Quality Improvement and Experience Sharing Convention, which was first held in 1997, aims at recognizing the contribution from Work Improvement Teams of these outstanding service organisations and providing opportunity in sharing experience on service improvement among all participants.
While giving his key-note speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. P.C. LUK, the Postmaster General, said, "Quality service is the crucial element for all kinds of business to sustain their success in the environment with keen competition. In pursuit of excellent quality service, like most other utility companies or business corporations, Hongkong Post has placed customer service as one of our top priorities."
"There is no fast and easy way to succeed but experience sharing is definitely an effective tool for benchmarking and gaining insight to areas where improvement can be made. Like our member organizations, Hongkong Post is greatly honoured to be able to share our quality journey in helping to enhance the service quality of the community."
In demonstrating the theme of the Convention - Team up for Excellence, 11 teams from member organizations performed their cases in the form of role-play and powerpoint presentation. Over one thousand participants, including staff members from all member organizations and guests from many other quality organizations, joined the Convention to share experience in their quality journey.
