Hongkong Post introduces new letter-box

Letter-boxes at old buildings are usually sub-standard in that they are small and without clear address indications. Some of them are without lock, jeopardising the security of the mail items inside. In achieving consistently the highest levels of customer satisfaction, Hongkong Post has just tailor-made a letter-box to cater for the need of members of the public. The specially designed box has the following key features:

  • Accommodating large-sized items up to A4 size
  • Displaying proper address
  • Strong build made of stainless steel
  • Provision of lock and aperture flap, enhancing mail security

These boxes will be available at $80 each at the following 18 post offices with effect from 29 July 2002 (Monday):

Hong Kong Island:

  • General Post Office
  • Sai Ying Pun Post Office
  • Shau Kei Wan Post Office
  • Wanchai Post Office

Outlying Islands:

  • Cheung Chau Post Office
