new Garden Road Post Office opens today (December 2), to replace the existing Harcourt Road Post Office.
The Postmaster General, Mr Luk Ping-chuen said, "This post office formerly known as Beaconsfield House Post Office was temporarily relocated to Harcourt Road to make way for the redevelopment of the site occupied by the then Beaconsfield House. Back to its original location, the new Garden Road Post Office takes on a new look with modernized facilities."
Located at Ground Floor, Cheung Kong Centre, 2 Queen's Road Central, Garden Road Post Office operates from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays, and from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. Other than the existing services, this new post office also provides 950 Post Office Boxes for the convenience of customers. "It is our continuous effort to upgrade our services to customers," added Mr Luk. Customers who are interested in renting the Post Office Boxes may call P O Boxes Section at 2921 2255.
The new Garden Road Post Office will continue to operate as a philatelic office. A new pictorial postmark featuring the Legislative Council Building will be introduced for use by this new post office as from today (December 2).

The Garden Road Post Office was opened on 2 December 2002. In line with Hongkong Post's corporate identity which is modern, innovative and service-oriented, a new design is adopted. The enclosed photo shows the outlook of the Garden Road Post Office.
