The Postmaster General, Mr Luk Ping-chuen, announced today (December 12) the setting of a new milestone in its Logistics Service by launching a Wine Fulfilment Service in collaboration with Australia Post.
This afternoon at the General Post Office, Mr Luk was joined by Mr Mike Owen from Australia Post and Mr Christopher Rees from Australian Trade Commission in Hong Kong to officiate the ceremony. To symbolize the official launch of the service, Mr Luk delivered the first package of Australian wine to Mr Christopher Rees.
With the support of the West Australian Government, Hongkong Post and Australia Post team up with the renowned wineries in presenting the first product of the Service, Heartwood Collection wines. Now members of the public can fill in the order forms and place orders for these premium wine collection by fax, mail or in person at any post office. They can also order on-line in the iShop website of Hongkong Post. Hongkong Post will arrange with the Australia Post to send the premium wine products to Hong Kong via Speedpost, clear the custom duties on behalf of the customers, and deliver the products to the recipients at door. "This one-stop shop arrangement would undoubtedly bring additional shopping convenience to the public in Hong Kong," said Mr Luk.
"The establishment of this service totally demonstrates our value 'to excel through development and innovation' and our mission of proactively responding to changing service requirement," Mr Luk added. "We would continue to liaise with other potential business partners to explore new products."
