HONG KONG Stamp Expo - Issuing Ceremony of Tourism Series No. 6 "Hong Kong - Live it, Love it!"

This morning (2 February 2004), the Acting Postmaster General, Mrs. Joanna CHOI, unveiled the Tourism Series No. 6 - "Hong Kong - Live It, Love It!" stamp sheetlet to commemorate the HONG KONG 2004 Stamp Expo. The ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Ronnie HO, Chairman of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong. Mrs. CHOI presented a framed copy of the stamp sheetlet to Mr. HO as a memento of the event.

In her launching speech, Mrs. CHOI remarked that these stamps are like traveling windows looking into the colourful and exciting world that is Hong Kong. By just gazing at the designs on the stamp sheetlet, one can get a taste of the fun and dynamism of Hong Kong, encouraging people to experience the real thing for themselves - Live it, Love it!

Mrs. CHOI also urged members of the public to visit the Stamp Expo, which closes tomorrow, and make the most of this last opportunity to view some of the finest and most valuable stamp exhibits in the world.

The final philatelic product to commemorate the HONG KONG 2004 Stamp Expo - the Hong Kong Attractions stamp sheetlet - will be released tomorrow. A Lucky Draw and Closing Ceremony will also be held in the same afternoon. Visitors to the HONG KONG 2004 Stamp Expo will have a chance to win special prizes sponsored by various organisations including Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank and Hongkong Post.
