Suspension of Ordinary and Registered Letter Services to Ireland

The Assistant Postmaster General (Postal), Mr. Y. F. CHAN, announced today that as advised by the postal administration of Ireland, they are unable to accept or forward any international letter mail as from 23 March 2004 due to industrial action taken by their staff. In view of this, ordinary and registered letter services to Ireland are temporarily suspended with immediate effect. However, normal Speedpost and parcel services are maintained.

For mailing urgent items to Ireland, customers are advised to use the Speedpost service.
