No mail delivery on Buddha's Birthday
The Acting Postmaster General, Mrs. Joanna CHOI, announced today that with effect from 17 May 2004, the delivery network of Hongkong Post's international courier service, Speedpost, will be expanded to 120 additional destinations. With this expansion, Speedpost's network coverage will span across the globe reaching a total of 216 destinations.
"Speedpost is always a good choice of express service for businesses, in particular SMEs, in sending time sensitive documents and packages to overseas countries. It offers the best value for money ", said Mrs. CHOI. "The expansion of network will enable Speedpost to have a much more extensive coverage to South America, Eastern Europe and Africa. The worldwide coverage of 216 destinations means that we are providing our customers with an international courier service to nearly every corner of the world."
Apart from the network expansion, Speedpost has also launched the Bonus Point Scheme for the year of 2004. Under the Scheme, Speedpost account customers can redeem a wide variety of gifts by means of bonus points accumulated in their accounts through using the Speedpost service from April 2004 to March 2005.
" The Scheme is an exclusive benefit to our account customers. Since the launch of the Scheme in 2001, it has received overwhelming responses, " said Mrs. CHOI.
