Temporary Sales Booth on Tram for "Centenary of Hong Kong Trams" Special Stamps on 27 May 2004 (9:00am to 5:00pm)

The Acting Postmaster General, Mrs. Joanna CHOI, announced today (24 May 2004) that a set of special stamps "Centenary of Hong Kong Trams" will be issued on 27 May 2004. To mark the issuing of the new stamps, a temporary sales booth will be set up on a tram from 9 am to 5 pm on the day of first issue on 27 May 2004. The tram, decorated with the stamps' visuals for easy identification, will call at all stops en route "Sheung Wan - North Point - Happy Valley - Causeway Bay" according to the schedule below.

No hand-back service will be provided at the temporary sales booth. A special cachet will be issued by Hongkong Tramways Limited for this event. Customers buying stamp products on the tram may apply the cachet on their stamp products.

The same stamp products of the "Centenary of Hong Kong Trams" Special Stamps will also be sold at all post offices from 27 May 2004 onwards and the serviced first day covers will be available at 39 philatelic offices on 27 May 2004.
