Post Office Trading Fund-A decade of success

On August 1, 1995, Hongkong Post became a trading fund operator under the Trading Funds Ordinance, bidding farewell to its traditional status of a vote-funded department. Since then, they have to reinvest part of their return to the fund for long term development as a self-financing and accountable business. The departure from the annual voted fund system allows Hongkong Post greater management flexibility for speedier response to changing market needs.

Over the past decade, Hongkong Post has transformed itself into a forward-looking, customer-focused and market-oriented organization. It has made significant progress in developing a service culture, bringing new products and services to market and investing in new technology. At home, Hongkong Post has become an active and responsible member of the community. It has also developed a good reputation overseas.
