Mr. HARDY, Mrs CHOW, Ms CHENG, distinguished guests and friends from the media,
Good morning, welcome to the preview ceremony of the "Hong Kong Disneyland Grand Opening" Special Stamps. First of all, I would like to express our special thanks to Mr. Roy Tan HARDY, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of the Hong Kong Disneyland, Mrs Selina CHOW, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Ms Eva CHENG, Commissioner for Tourism, for joining us despite their busy schedules.
It is heartening to see the completion of this world-class theme park and resort in such a short span of time as our memory of the 2003 special stamp issue commemorating the park's groundbreaking ceremony still lingers on. Anyway, the most anticipated opening of Disneyland is going to come true in four days' time.
The word Disney is now a household name. The mere mention of it conjures up childhood memories of fabulous worlds filled with wonder, imagination, creativity and magic. "My business is making people happy," said the legendary Walt DISNEY when he built his namesake park 50 years ago. Disney's formula for keeping its guests happy works like magic to the development of Disneyland all over the world. More and more theme parks with featured attractions and signature entertainment have been opened, offering magical experiences for their guests. Today, Disney's cast members still uphold their core value of creating a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone cruising in the kingdom.
Sharing Disney's vision of customer care, Hongkong Post also attaches great importance to customer satisfaction for we know that extra care is needed to put a smile on the customer's face. Throughout the years, we have been delivering services that are on time, reliable and value for money. To forge a closer relationship with our customers, the second Hongkong Post "Love and Care Day" is going to be held on 15 September 2005 with "One Person, One Letter" free posting as the highlight. To express our thanks for customers' continuous support, a film show, among other celebration events, was organized last Sunday.
Let's turn back to Mickey, Minnie, Dumbo, Simba, Nala and Pluto, those timeless Disney characters on the stamps. Their creations and popular appeal demonstrate the importance of creativity for business breakthrough. Take a sideway look, the giant stamp mosaic is our recently accomplished piece of postal artwork showcasing Hongkong Post's innovative spirit. Though it may not be a must-see attraction for visitors, quite a number of people have taken a long way to drop by the General Post Office for a glimpse of this potential entry of the Guinness World Records since its unveiling on 30 August 2005.
Lastly, may I wish the Hong Kong Disneyland every success at its grand opening next Monday.
Thank you.
