The Assistant Postmaster General (Postal), Mr. Michael CHUNG Man-kit, announced today (25 September 2006) that there would be no mail delivery during the coming public holidays on 2 October 2006 (Monday, The day following National Day) and 7 October 2006 (Saturday, The day following Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival). All post offices would be closed. However, one mail collection would be arranged for all posting boxes except those located on outlying islands and in remote areas on 2 and 8 October 2006. There would be no mail collection from posting boxes on 1 and 7 October 2006.
Mr. CHUNG added that on Sundays, 1 and 8 October 2006, the General Post Office, the Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office and the Airport Post Office would open for business under the usual Sunday service arrangements from 9 am to 2 pm.
