"Government Transport" Special Stamps Issuing Ceremony
Hongkong Post issued today (19 October 2006) the "Government Transport" Special Stamps. This set of special stamps comprises six stamps, featuring six unique vehicles from our disciplined services, which include Correctional Services Department, Customs & Excise Department, Fire Services Department, Government Flying Service, Hong Kong Police Force and Immigration Department. Special vehicles deployed by the disciplined services exemplify the professionalism, commitment and special nature of these departments in serving and protecting the community.
Mr. TAM Wing-pong, Postmaster General, presented framed stamps and first day covers to the representatives of the 6 disciplined services and Mr. KAN Tai-keung, designer of these special stamps at the General Post Office this morning. As a memento of the occasion, Mr. TAM, the representatives of the 6 disciplined services and Mr. KAN signed First Day Covers for philatelists.
