Press Release issued on 5 September 2007
Warning against abuse of "Hongkong Post Circular Service" indicia

Hongkong Post has discovered cases of abuse of the "Hongkong Post Circular Service" indicia on publicity leaflets which were not posted through Hongkong Post.

A spokesman for Hongkong Post said the problem had not been serious in the past but with the growing popularity in the use of publicity circulars, people were reminded that Hongkong Post Circular Service was a service provided by Hongkong Post.

Anyone who produces any leaflet bearing the distinctive "Hongkong Post Circular Service" indicia or delivers any item bearing such an indicia without prior approval of Hongkong Post, commits an offence under the Post Office Ordinance and can be prosecuted.

Further information of the Hongkong Post Circular Service is given in the service leaflets available at post offices and Hongkong Post's website.

Hongkong Post urges people not to abuse the "Hongkong Post Circular Service" indicia.
