All designers and artists based in Hong Kong are invited to express their interest in designing postage stamps on non-committal basis.
Interested designers and artists should forward the following to Hongkong Post Stamps, Room 1706, 17/F, ING Tower, 308-320 Des Voeux Road Central, Sheung Wan, HONG KONG:
There are no specific requirements for the draft design which will go through a vetting process subsequently.
Interested designers should note that no remunerations will be provided for the draft designs, Also, the draft designs and the graphic design works submitted will not be returned. If they wish, they may submit a copy of the draft design instead of the original. The deadline for submission is 5 April 2008. Late submissions will not be considered.
Hongkong Post will maintain a list of interested designers through this invitation and, after considering the designs submitted and the themes of the stamp issue, may approach suitable designers for submission of initial stamp designs in due course. The initial stamp designs will be subject to endorsement by the Stamp Advisory Committee and approval by the Secretary for Home Affairs before they are finally selected for production as postage stamps. Hongkong Post does not guarantee that all designers who have expressed interest will be invited for submission of initial stamp designs. All personal data and draft designs collected will be used for considering and processing the applications concerned. The data collected and draft designs will be kept in confidence, and except those finally selected for invitation for submission of initial stamp designs, will be destroyed after the completion of the recruitment process.
Hongkong Post expects to approach the suitable designers for submission of initial stamp designs before June 2008. Designers who have not been approached by Hongkong Post by then should consider their applications unsuccessful.
