Hongkong Post issues "Year of the Ox" Special Stamps
Hongkong Post today (January 17) issued the "Year of the Ox" Special Stamps.
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau and acting Postmaster General, Mr Chan Yau-fung, officiated at the ceremony to mark the issue of this special set of Lunar New Year stamps at the General Post Office this morning.
Mrs Lau said the special stamps portrayed vividly the physique and postures of four different breeds of oxen. She said, "The zodiac animals stamp series has always been very popular. I am sure this set of 'Year of the Ox' special stamps, which has a strong Lunar New Year flavour, would appeal to the general public and stamp collectors."
As a memento of the occasion, Mr Chan presented to Mrs Lau and Mr Bon Kwan, designer of these special stamps, framed stamps and first day covers.
