Special Stamp Issue – "HONG KONG 2009 – 23rd Asian International Stamp Exhibition" (14 May 2009)

This stamp sheetlet is designed by Mr. Colin TILLYER and printed in lithography plus Isogram® by Joh. Enshede B. V., the Netherlands.

The stamp sheetlet takes the tangram, a puzzle game comprising seven pieces, as its subject. Special printing effect is applied to the stamp and one can just place the enclosed screener on the stamp, move it slightly, and the hidden pattern and words will come out.

Hand-back Datestamping Arrangements

A hand-back datestamping service by the office steel datestamp and the special postmark will be provided on 14 May 2009 at all post offices and the Temporary Post Office at the exhibition venue, for official and privately-made covers, bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address. They will be available, together with the “Philatelic Bureau” pictorial postmark and the philatelic office pictorial postmark, for hand-back datestamping service at all philatelic offices on that day. The GPO-1 datestamp will be available at the General Post Office only. A cachet will be available at the exhibition venue throughout the exhibition period from 14 to 17 May 2009.

Also on 14 May 2009, the public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau will open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for datestamping covers with the “Philatelic Bureau” pictorial postmark and the special postmark.
