This set of stamps is designed by Mr. Clement YICK and printed in lithography plus hot foil stamping by Australia Post Sprintpak. The set of six stamps contains two designs for each of the three denominations, featuring all the 22 sports in the 5th East Asian Games, namely, Judo, Rowing and Rugby Sevens ($1.40); Athletics, Badminton, Wushu and Shooting ($1.40); Basketball, Hockey, Squash and Aquatics ($2.40); Cycling, Weightlifting and Tennis ($2.40); Windsurfing, Football, Bowling and Taekwondo ($3); Table Tennis, Volleyball, DanceSport and Cue Sports ($3).

Date-stamping Arrangements
A hand-back date-stamping service by the office steel date-stamp and the special postmark will be provided on 5 December 2009 at all post offices, for official/ privately-made covers, bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address, while the “Philatelic Bureau” pictorial postmark and philatelic office pictorial postmark for hand-back date-stamping service will be provided at all philatelic offices on that day. However, the GPO-1 date-stamp will only be available at the General Post Office.
Furthermore, public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau will open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 5 December 2009 to provide date-stamping for covers bearing the “Philatelic Bureau” pictorial postmark and the special postmark.
