FreightPLUS Service

Introducing Speedpost FreightPLUS

Riding on our existing SpeedpostFreight service, we would like to introduce an enhanced option to our prestigious Speedpost account customers - Speedpost FreightPLUS*.

* Applicable for posting to India only

Service Features

  1. This service is exclusively available to Speedpost account customers and solely accepts the postings via pick-up service.
  2. No maximum total weight limit per consignment. A minimum of 2 items is required for one consignment, with an overall minimum chargeable weight of 20 kg.
    • The minimum weight of each item is 1 kg and it's maximum weight is 40 kg. If the items are carried by pallets / boxes, the maximum weight for each pallet / box is 500kg.
    • Each consignment is charged on a per kilo basis. Any fraction of a kilo will be rounded up to the next whole kilo.
    • Items will be charged on its dead weight or volumetric weight (cubic metre volume x 167), whichever is higher.
  3. Only one set of consignment note is required for sending multiple pieces to the same recipient and address in a single consignment.
  4. Customer can simply go to "Speedpost Online Account Zone" ("SOAZ") to fill in and print the posting forms at any time.
  5. Posting items will be processed through commercial channel for customs clearance by overseas delivery agent.

Procedure for using Speedpost FreightPLUS Service

I. Preparation of Posting Form

  1. The posting form (Pos 613C) must be completed before posting. Please pay attention to the information related to the destination, e.g. areas served, delivery standard, prohibited and restricted items, and points to note. For details, please refer to the Posting Guide for Speedpost FreightPLUS Service.
  2. The posting form (Pos 613C) is only available at "Speedpost Online Account Zone" ("SOAZ") on Speedpost website for online completion. Registration for an SOAZ account is required before using this online function.
  3. The posting form (Pos 613C) is available only in English and must be completed in English. Nevertheless, customer may choose Chinese version on logging in SOAZ, where a Chinese translation of the posting form (Pos 613C) is available for reference.
  4. Only one currency unit is accepted in the posting form (Pos 613C).
  5. Customer is reminded to pay attention on the format of printer set-up. If you use the same browser each time to print the posting form (Pos 613C), you only have to adjust printer set-up at the first time and the computer will automatically record the format for future printing.   6. To facilitate barcode scanning, the posting form (Pos 613C) MUST BE printed by laser printer. Otherwise, the overseas delivery agency will not be able to process the items, and thus results in the return of the whole consignment.

II. Proper Packing of Items

  1. The full set of posting form (Pos 613C) contains: 1) sender's copy; 2) post office copy; 3) customs copy; 4) data prep copy; and 5) addressee's copy. With the required information filled in online, the system will automatically generate the printout in the required quantity with reference to the number of items in the consignment. Only the 1st EMS item in the consignment is required to carry the full set of posting form (Pos 613C). Customer may place the full set of posting form into an adhesive / open flap transparent envelope and have it securely attached to the 1st item. For the rest of the consignment, only the 5th copy, i.e. addressee's copy, has to be attached to the boxes concerned.
  2. Items shipped using this service would be processed through commercial clearance, hence, customer is also required to prepare the original commercial invoice in quadruplicate, which should be put into another adhesive / open flap transparent envelope to avoid mix up with the posting form. Again, the commercial invoice has to be securely attached to the 1st item in the consignment. You may refer to Speedpost website to obtain standard commercial invoice if needs be.
  3. When printing out the posting form (Pos 613C), the system will at the same time generate the simplified version of the Terms and Conditions for the Use of Speedpost FreightPLUS service for customer's reference. However, there is no need to attach this Terms and Conditions to the consignment.
  4. Customer can pack the items with self-provided packing or Multipack Boxes purchased at their choices. Multipack Boxes are available in four sizes: 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg and 30 kg. Please allow at least 5 working days (including Saturday) for ordering over 20 Multipack Boxes of the same size. Multipack order hotline: 2921 2266.
  5. Customer is reminded to include the net weight of the self-provided packing or Multipack Box as part of the total dead weight of each item. The Speedpost FreightPLUS items will be charged for their dead weight or volumetric weight (i.e. size of an item), whichever is greater. The total dead weight or total volumetric weight of the consignment will be subject to the final measurement by Hongkong Post after collection. The weight of the whole consignment and each item therein will be shown on the Consignment Note and the monthly statement for customer's record.
  6. Each consignment will be assigned a unique FreightPLUS Number. Each item in the consignment will also be assigned a unique Item Number. Customer must ensure that all items posted under one consignment must correspond to one unique FreightPLUS Number only. The FreightPLUS Number and the Item Number shown on individual boxes as well as the total number of boxes must tally with the information contained in the posting form (Pos 613C).
  7. Customer is required to affix an account number barcode label to the cover of the 1st EMS item in the consignment. Please contact our telephone pick-up centre (2921 2266) for additional labels.

III. Pick-up Request

  1. When the consignment is ready for pick-up, customer may contact our telephone pick-up centre (2921 2266) for arrangement.
  2. Delivery postman will test on site the readability of the barcode imprinted on the posting form (Pos 613C). If the barcode fails to be read by barcode scanner, the whole consignment will not be picked up to avoid return of the whole consignment by overseas delivery agencies who will not be able to process any item with unreadable barcode.

    Important Information

    ♦ In the event that any discrepancy is found after collection, a discrepancy report detailing differences will be generated and the customer will be prompted for his/her further instruction before the time stated below (except for volumetric weight discrepancy):

    For volumetric weight discrepancy, the time for Hongkong Post to inform the customer and the customer to give his/her instruction is as follows:

    If no further instruction is received from the customer before the above-mentioned time, the consignment will be returned to him/her on the next working day from the day of collection (except for consignment involving volumetric weight discrepancy). As the case may be*, Hongkong Post reserves the right to impose a service fee, which is two times the pick-up fee, for the return of the consignment.

    * Each FreightPLUS Number has its unique set of Item Numbers. The customer is solely responsible for ensuring the correctness and consistency of the FreightPLUS Number and Item Numbers within a consignment. Collection of the consignment by Speedpost does not imply correctness of all shipment information. In case of any discrepancy found after the collection and caused by the customer, a service fee will be imposed for the return of the consignment.

IV. View Consignment Note and Final Postage

  1. Under normal situation (except when discrepancy report is issued by Hongkong Post), if the consignment is in order and the collection is completed, a Consignment Note to confirm the details of posting (the total weight and postage in particular) can be downloaded from SOAZ on the next working day for record purpose.
